Yahoo! Announces Community Season 6 Premiere Date

We’re still wrapping our heads around how Community got renewed for a sixth season—not with NBC, but instead streaming online as Yahoo!’s foray into original programming. Now, Yahoo! has announced the premiere date, letting us know how much time we have to prepare ourselves for this most impossible timeline.

In this snarky video, the remaining cast and Dan Harmon point out that we know who they are. We don’t need the whole drama, on-screen or off-, we just need to know when to watch season 6.

And that “when” is March 17:

Unlike Netflix’s binge-release model, Yahoo! will stream its episodes on a weekly basis. At last year’s San Diego Comic-Con, the Community cast and crew clarified their expectations that season 6 episodes will still be typical broadcast length (21 minutes) and that there won’t be an uptick in cursing.

Still, this being the Internet, we could see some flexibility. It’d be especially cool if Community takes advantage of its new medium to stretch the limits of narration in the same ways that brought us classic episodes like “Advanced Dungeons & Dragons” and “Abed’s Uncontrollable Christmas.”

Tune in to Yahoo! Screen on March 17 for the beginning of Community season 6.
